We’re all about giving independent artists a platform, but due to time constraints with scheduling, that’s not always possible for every film submitted to a festival. This year, Silver Scream Film and Comic fest is introducing an online theater where films that received an Honorable Mention can be viewed and rated by everyone! Our first two films, PORCELAIN and O2 NEGATIVE, are available for viewing and rating now. If you scream loudly enough, the filmmakers may just hear you…
In Silver Scream’s debut year of 2016, we awarded the visionary science fiction film CTRL ALT DELETE with the Best Sci-Fi Feature award — and now we are pleased to announce that the film is available for the general public to enjoy! Released March 6, 2018 as HACKED, the film is on VOD and/or DVD from every major retailer, including including iTunes, Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy.
“Obviously it has been quite a journey to get to this point, and I couldn’t be more grateful for how our reception at Silver Scream helped set us up for success,” says director James B. Cox.

The Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards have been running for sixteen (!) years now, and Silver Scream Film & Comic Fest is up for Best Convention this year! If you attended the 2018 festival and had a good time, please consider following the link and voting for us. It’s an easy email ballot, so just copy and paste and send away!
Also nominated for Best Documentary is MONSTER KIDS: THE IMPACT OF THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT — which recently won Best Documentary at this very festival! Show your support by voting. You can also vote for (or write-in) last year’s Silver Scream winners for Best Independent Film and Best Short, our affiliate company Famous Monsters for best magazine and interview, and 2016’s Graphic Novel Script winner, INVISIBLE HANDS, for best comic book.
The 2018 Festival has come and gone, and we had a blast! We hope everyone else did, too. We’d like to thank all of our special guests for being incredibly gracious, our filmmakers and writers for their enthusiastic participation, the cast and crews of our independent features, our volunteers for their tireless work, and all press and attendees who came through the door and created the show through their love for the horror and sci-fi genres.
After three days of genre goodness and makeup demos, we capped it off with an awards ceremony for the indie writers and filmmakers who impressed us the most. So without further ado, we’d like to present our 2018 award winners.
